GN is experiencing rapid growth. In 2018, the group revenue surpassed DKK 10 billion following a year of 13% organic growth. GN’s hearing aid business took market share for the 8th year in a row and bagged organic growth of 7%. GN’s headset business grew a whopping 21% organically, and both businesses are set up to continue on this growth path with 9% of revenue reinvested in research and development of new products.

“This success in our business has set us up to fundamentally transform our IT backbone – our infrastructure, our digital platforms and how everything plays together. At GN, IT is an integral business partner and in many aspects even a part of the products we sell. GN being increasingly a software company, we rely heavily on tight integration between the business and the IT organization,” says Agnetha Mattisson, CIO.
Agnetha joined GN in 2017 and is now spearheading the building of a modern, global IT function by strengthening GN’s existing IT capabilities and supplementing with new talent. GN Group IT consists of 130 professionals whereof approx. 50 is externally sourced from Manila. The main locations for GN’s onsite IT staff are GN’s headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, its large US site in Bloomington, MN, USA and its site in Xiamen, China.
“It is GN’s strategy that our IT organization must be an important value-driver closely partnering with the business. We must deliver true value-adding services that enable growth and support bottom line by operational efficiency, which – to an IT professional – obviously makes GN’s IT function a great place to work,” says Agnetha Mattisson.
Be part of a global ERP project
One major project that is just now kicking off, is a global ERP implementation.
“It is not just a system replacement, but a change journey, put in place to support the future of how GN Hearing operates and our growth plans. For such a big program, Executive Management support is vital, and in GN we are committed to see this through,” Thomas Brolin explains.
To design a state of the art, global ERP solution, GN Hearing is currently looking for several new IT colleagues to be part of replacing the current ERP system with Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations (D365FO). Over the next coming years, this implementation will cover functionality within sales, supply chain, manufacturing and finance.
