The newest sales data from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) strongly indicates that GN ReSound will continue to perform solidly under the new contract as of November 2014. In the first month of the new contract, GN ReSound maintained its strong momentum and a market share above 12%.
In November 2014, GN ReSound introduced two key products in the VA, ReSound ENZO™ and ReSound LiNX TS™. ReSound ENZO is the new premium super power hearing aid for people with severe hearing impairment. Through its significant 86 dB gain, uniquely compelling design and the superior Made for iPhone connectivity, the hearing aid is a superior offering in the VA segment. This is witnessed by a significant increase in the number of ReSound super power hearing aids sold in the VA already in November.
GN ReSound has for many years been a supplier to the VA. The VA fits approximately 20% of all hearing aids in the US and is thereby an important customer for hearing aid manufacturers. In 2013, GN ReSound appointed a new vice president of government services and VA customer support and made several other adjustments to meet the needs of the VA. In May 2014, GN ReSound launched the highly innovative ReSound LiNX™, and the market share increased from around 8% to 12%.
President and head of GN ReSound in the US Todd Murray explains: “Meeting the needs of the VA audiologists is critical to secure growth in the US market, and we have been keenly focused for some time on the unique requirements of the VA. We have tailored our support organization and training efforts to match the needs of the VA clinics which combined with our leading product portfolio – including Resound LiNX – are beginning to create the results we had hoped to achieve.”
