At AudiologyNOW, formerly known as AAA, the leading annual hearing aid industry event in the US, GN ReSound presented two new hearing instruments to the industry and the press. The initial response was very positive.
Getting the most attention was be by ReSound™, an entirely new hearing aid concept with a revolutionary design that combines the main benefits of traditional hearing instruments: it is just as open, comfortable and easy to use as the best micro-Behind-the-Ear products on the market, and at the same time it is just as invisible as the smallest hearing aids placed deep inside the ear canal. GN ReSound calls the new category IOT – Invisible Open Technology.
Proven technology in a revolutionary new concept
be by ReSound™ is designed to not to be seen when placed in the ear, and for its users to wear it and forget about it. In other words, be by ReSound™ is so comfortable that the user forgets that he or she is even wearing a hearing aid. Over several months GN ReSound ran live tests with users and the feedback was impressive.
“We have combined proven and cutting-edge technologies in a new way that meets the demand of first-time users and active people for an invisible hearing instrument that is also very comfortable to wear,” said Senior Vice President Henrik Wiboltt, GN ReSound.
Especially people aged 45-65 and first-time users often state stigma as their major reason for not wearing a hearing instrument.
“Active people often view a hearing instrument as equal to having a handicap or as a sign of old age, and that’s not how they see themselves. be by ReSound™ gives them back their freedom,” said Henrik Wiboltt.
ReSound Ziga, a new mid-price hearing instrument
At AudiologyNOW, GN ReSound also presented the ReSound Ziga™, a new product family in the mid-price segment.
“GN ReSound has always been well positioned in terms of mid-price hearing instruments, which is the largest segment on the world market. By adding the ReSound Ziga™ to our portfolio in this segment, we can offer a high class product at a very competitive price,” said Henrik Wiboltt.
GN ReSound CEO Mike van der Wallen said: "“GN ReSound presents a very strong range of new products this spring. We are proud to be able to offer people with different degrees of hearing impairment such innovative and comfortable solutions that will truly improve their quality of life."
Mike van der Wallen is confident that these products will expand GN ReSound's market share and further build on the company's position in the hearing aid market.
